The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a program that provides a fixed amount of funding to Maine each year from the Federal government.
The current application period runs from August 3rd, 2026 to May 31, 2027.
MMCA is the LiHEAP office for eligible residents of Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties only. If you live outside of our service area, visit the Maine Housing website to find your LiHEAP office.

This program runs from November 2, 2026 to April 30, 2027.
If you have an extremely low supply of heating fuel, you may qualify for crisis assistance through the Energy Crisis Intervention Program, ECIP.
ECIP can provide one-time assistance for LiHEAP eligible applicants who are in an energy crisis and do not have the means to divert it themselves. Once you have submitted your LiHEAP application, please call 207-442-7963, option 1 to see if you qualify.
